    Mouse optic sensor keeps dying

    Hello guys !
I have a Steelseries rival 100 and it seems like is broken but apparently it's not.
The steelseries guys told me some tips to solve this problem , it didn't work and they said to send the mouse to warranty.
I sent it to warranty and they said it's ok and sent it back to me.
The mouse either stops working (if i look under the mouse , the red light dissapears ;and i need to reconnect it to fix it ) or it reconnects randomly.
I tried installing a new os like 3 times , nothing changed ( win 7,8.1,10)
The steelseries guys told me some tips to solve this problem , it didn't work and they said to send the mouse to warranty.

I tried another mouse and it did the same problem , i tried again another mouse and everything works fine. It doesn't make sense...

    Hi Sikoo.

Open up device manager, find your mouse, open properties, Power Management Tab, and disable the ability to shut off device to save power.

Does your mouse have specific drivers and are you loading them?

Under Advance Power options you will see a heading USB settings. Disable USB Selective suspend setting.

My mouse is not showing up in device manager but all the usb things have the shutdown ability disabled. Also ,the human interface devices have this ability disabled.
    Selective suspend is disabled.
My mouse has a driver (Steelseries engine 3) and yes i'm loading it.
I changed the psu like 4 days ago (old one 450W - new one 500W) and the problem happens more rarely but it still happens ..so...

So what driver is showing in device manager for the mouse?

Don't know a lot about this mouse but there appears to be software with it. Does the steelseries Engine recognize your mouse?

So you said earlier you loaded drivers for mouse yet they don't show in device manager? Interesting.

Are there any port restrictions or recommendations, like use a USB 2.0 port?

On windows 7 (currently installed) the drivers don't show up in device manager but on win 10 they do but the problem still persists .
And i don't think i have any port restriction.

For giggles could you try a USB 2.0 port directly connected to Motherboard (hoping cable is long enough).
