How do i control Bluetooth speaker volume independently

i just downloaded an update to windows 10 and found out that my volume controls had changed. previously, i could set the bluetooth volume to its highest with its hardware buttons and set my laptop master volume to where i want it. now turning up the bluetooth hardware volume also turns up my laptop volume making it too loud. e.g: previously, i could set my bluetooth speaker to 100% and have the laptop volume at 10 and if i wanted it louder all i needed to do was turn up the laptop volume. now if i turn the bluetooth volume to 100% the laptop volume will also be at 100%. is there a way to go act to the way it was?

You could adjust volume from the Taskbar....Or in Settings type Sound which brings up Audio.

Once you've set the physical volume buttons on the device whilst controlling it's Master Volume, say 50%, switch back to the PC Master from the Volume flyout......

I have the same problem, got the update yesterday.

I use an USB dongle and a bluetooth audio receiver, before the update everything was working fine and I could set the volume via Windows, it was always about 26.
But now everything is way too loud. If i put the volume on 2 I would already damage my ears. Don't know how to fix it, can somebody help?

    hey folks!

I think I found the solution.
You have to edit the registry. At least, that worked for me...

Thanks for posting this solution man! Microsoft's bad registry entry is the culprit and all this while I've been thinking about some bluetooth driver causing the trouble.
