    Samsung NVME Driver Updated

Samsung appear to have updated their NVME driver to version 3.0.

You can download it here: SSD Tools Software | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

Use Majorgeeks if Samsung site is overloaded: Download Samsung NVMe Driver - MajorGeeks

Can you install the new driver over the currently installed one?

    TIA...

Yes, I just did that yesterday. Here's the driver info from Magician:

I simply ran the installer and let it target the same directory where the previous version had been installed. It handled things correctly to remove the old and bring in the new.

    Thanks Ed...

Updating to version 3.0 from the previous version is a mixed bag in my case:

I would've liked to see the the "4KiB Q1T1" value increase, instead of decrease. The sequential read/write value not as important as the 4KiB value from the actual/perceived performance perspective. Maybe the BIOS needs to be updated for the motherboard...

The system has a second NVMe drive, where the "4KiB Q1T1" value decreased similarly.

Pretty much in line with what I saw on my system, too. Love to know how they engineer their driver changes.

Took a pic of mine still on NVME driver version: 2.3.0 here. After looking at the speeds after updating to v3.0, think I just keep my older version for now.
