Bluetooth Audio is Bugged in 1803

Found a bug with Bluetooth audio with 1803. I can reproduce on 4 computers with clean install or upgrade. Same bug.
So this PC has a Broadcom USB Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. I have a pair of Creative Bluetooth speaker that connects to it. I only use this as a backup speaker. My Denon AVR uses WASAPI when watching moves in Atmos, DTS, etc.

After a clean or upgrade install of 1803, the Bluetooth audio slider does not change volume. It makes a beep when moving the slider. Like beeps for every step. If you turn the slider all the way down, the volume does mute. When you turn it up one step, the speakers are full blast. They are always playing a full blast no matter where the slider is. And after playing with the slider for a minute, Bluetooth disconnects. I tried a different BT adapter on this PC. It has the same behavior. It's a multi-boot PC and this adapter works fine in Win7, Win8.1 and Win10 1703. Thanks MS!

This occurs on 2 other PC too. One is a Dell 1820 with an Intel network/BT adapter.

    Who else sees this bug?

Who else noticed this? It's not a driver problem. They changed a lot of sound things in 1803.

I don't see the edit button anymore. I just saw a mistake.

    I meant win10 1709. I still have 1709 on a partition. And a backup of it
    @Brink
What do you think? This is a horrible bug.
I'll stick with my fresh Win8.1 for now.

Same problem here. That really bugs me. Using Creative T30 speakers via Bluetooth and the symptoms are exactly the same. I get full volume unless I set volume to 0. Once I move the slider to 1 (or any other number) I get the full 100% volume and a beep with every step on the volume bar. I don't have these issues with my other Bluetooth speaker, an Anker SoundCore 2 which is also connected via Bluetooth.

Makes my Creative Speakers unusable :/

What I found out so far: when I adjust the volume of Chrome via the Volume Mixer separately; I can adjust the sound properly without problems.

The same thing, but slightly more elegant. Get EarTrumpet, then replace the default sound icon in the notification area. You don't have to deal with the Volume Mixer window, and can almost forget about this bluetooth problem til you open the next app that makes a noise and blows your eardrums.

Yep, there is something broken in BT on 1803. Devices that used to work for me, currently work very unreliably.

I have the same problem, got the update yesterday.

I use an USB dongle and a bluetooth audio receiver, before the update everything was working fine and I could set the volume via Windows, it was always about 26.
But now everything is way too loud. If i put the volume on 2 I would already damage my ears. Don't know how to fix it, can somebody help?

Do your devices which cause problems also use aptx, maybe there is a problem belonging to aptx?

I think there's something buggy in the audio subsystem. BT works flawlessly for me except when it comes to audio. I've been testing and testing this and if I connect anything else but an audio device I get fast connection and great performance.

I found a solution in my case.
I use this cheap dongle which supports aptx: LogiLink BT0015 USB bluetooth V4.0 EDR Class1 Micro: Amazon.de: Computer Zubehör

So I just installed the old driver, called "CSR Harmony" which activated "aptx" in older windows versions. After the restart I paired my audio gear again and now the volume is at the level as it used to be.
If somebody of you uses an aptx-dongle too, you should try it out.
