    I have same issue.
It's a almost first thing you notice after the upgrade.
So I'm wondering if they knew this issue and just ignore it.
Hopefully Microsoft will address this issue.

Same problem here. I get Drive G:

No way to remove it, delete it, etc. None of the workarounds work. I do not like having unnecessary drives show up as I also have lots of other things going on. One mistake in drive letter and it can be disastrous for my data or system integrity.

    So silly...
Use diskpart or minitool partition wizard to remove drive letter.

I have the same issue, but what is also more annoying is the notification pop-ups every few minutes telling me local disk J: is running out of space and to click here to free up space, but it does nothing.

    Hello all,

Remove Drive Letter in Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Open command prompt or windows powershell (Run as administrator)

    Type:

mountvol [your desired partition]: /d and press Enter. OEM partition will be removed after that :) in my case I had E letter, Threadstarter has D letter so do like I wrote

    My case - mountvol E: /d
Alexncfc case - mountvol D: /d and hit Enter button

    This is it :)

This could be the quickest solution. Thanks @baryalex. isn't mountvol part of Windows server ...

I just had Windows upgrade me a night ago, and now I have this full recovery partition with constant warning messages as well. I hesitate to use any of the fixes here, because I do not remember if I had an F drive before or not. I know I had a recovery partition. Don't we all? Isn't it one of the four partitions made when you do a full clean install of Windows 10? Also, if we use the fixes listed here so far and Microsoft DOES acknowledge this and issue a fix, then the fix won't be able to be applied if we have deleted the drive letter or impeded access to the partition somehow, right? ARGGHH!! I hate MS so bad sometimes.

Don't worry about MS's next fix. Just post a picture of Disk manager and we will determine a letter. Let us know, if you have problems with it.

I noticed the same thing...only affected 1 of 3 computers though. It immediately annoyed me and MiniTool wasn't able to remove the letter. I was able to quickly do it through DISKPART though (look up how to remove a drive letter with DISKPART) and it worked fine. Partition is still there, as it should be, but doesn't show up in File Explorer. One nice feature of the April Update is that it also doesn't show up under Optimize Drives.
