grom, that 2nd link gigabyte website download its a zip with 7 files in it:
    dotnetfx35.exe
    dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe
    setup.exe
    wic_x64_enu.exe
    wic_x86_enu.exe
    WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
    WindowsXP-KB898715-x64-enu.exe

i already have .net framework 3.5 installed. i think thats what these files are.
files on the gigabyte site are often repackaged into zip files and are not the latest intel/MS files.

Very odd, do you need Intel Rapid Storage software, or only drivers?

i've seen it run on my same PC system before but i can't remember if i had it running on a Windows 10 edition. i think i have. but on Windows 7 it requires .net framework 4.52 to be installed first. i think it might improve system performance having intel RST installed. its aimed mostly at RAID users i think. i don't have any drives set up as RAID.
