my secondary drive mSata SSD keeps disappearing from Windows 10

    Hi,

I have mSata SSD Samsung MZMTD256HAGM-000 as my secondary drive and it keeps appearing and disappearing on its own after the boot after installing windows 10. One time it loads and the next time I turn my laptop on, it doesn't.

I see the drive in BIOS but not in Windows. I tried Troubleshooter for hardware, Disk Management, Device Manager re-scan of devices but nothing helped. I tried to find a driver for this SSD but no luck.

When the disk appeared, I did SeaTools Diagnostics on the hard drive, did all test that I could find but the hard drive passed on all tests with a green checkmark.

I have no idea how to fix this. I also planned to migrate OS to this SSD but now I'm scared if it will appear or not.

Since this is a laptop, do you have the latest BIOS installed? You could also check your manual to see if there are any issues or configuration changes needed for using the mSATA slot. One some towers, when you put a drive in the mSATA slot, it disables one of the other SATA ports.

Thank you for your reply. I have installed today Dell's SupportAssist, and it found some drivers that needed to be updated including BIOS, so I updated everything and did system scan, it was all good - nothing was needed to be optimized. But still same problem with my SSD. I also tried to use air duster to remove dust from the slot and checked if it's plugged in good. Also I uninstalled the driver for the SSD when it appeared so windows could automatically reinstall the driver, but no luck. It appears in BIOS regularly but not in windows after each boot. Sometimes it's there and something is not. I have checked the manual, couldn't find any suggestions.
