USB 3.0 hub showing as 2.1

I just added a Wavlink USB Hub, 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub, and it seems to be operating as a 2.0 hub.

for those that don't know, USB Device Tree Viewer's icon with an "H" is for 1.0/2.0 ports, and "S" is for 3.0 ports. Port 10 is physically the same as port 20 under the "USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)" device. If the Wavlink were functioning as I expect it to, I would think that Tree Veiwer would show 8 ports, 4 labeled "H" and 4 labeled "S".

I tried it in another port with the same results.

    I'm running Windows 10.

Here is the long version of USB Device Tree Viewer's output when I select the hub:

    Code:

I have never used that program before but are you sure the port your connecting the hub to is USB 3 look's to me like it's not.

I always just look at the color of the plastic part in the port, Blue is USB 3 and Black is USB 2 for all my computers.

Do you have any other USB 3.0 devices you can test on your system to see if this is an issue with only the hub or if it's all USB 3.0 devices?

Ah, good idea. I plugged in an ADATA UVI128 USB Flash Drive that is supposed to be USB 3.0, and it does the same thing, shows up as USB 2.0:

    Code:
    SupportedUsbProtocols : 0x03
     Usb110 : 1 (yes)
     Usb200 : 1 (yes)
     Usb300 : 0 (no)
Unless this flash drive is mislabeled, there must a problem somewhere else. Any thoughts on where to look?

When you connect known USB3 device in same port the hub is connected to, does it also shows up as USB2 ?.

Does it show as SuperSpeed capable?

    Code:
            --------------- Connection Information V2 -------------
    ...
DevIsOpAtSsOrHigher : 0 (Is not operating at SuperSpeed or higher)
DevIsSsCapOrHigher : 1 (Is SuperSpeed capable or higher)
Can you attach the File->Save full report from usbtreeview? Have you searched Event Viewer for "USB" to see if there are any errors?

Does it show as SuperSpeed capable?
Yes. Both the Flash Drive and the Hub do. I'll attach the full report.

Have you searched Event Viewer for "USB" to see if there are any errors?
I don't see anything obviously related. Maybe we could pursue this if the Tree Viewer output doesn't lead anywhere?

I almost looks like that the device will run at the speed of the slowest device that is connected to it. It may not have the capability to run multiple speeds per port ? Have you tried removing the slow (USB 2.0) devices (Camera, mouse, keyboard) from that device, then reboot and plug in the KNOWN USB 3.0 device. Then see what the speed rating looks like.

Also take a view of it when NOTHING else is connected to it.

I don't think that's the issue - otherwise the USB flash drive would be running at 3.0. Does that make sense?
