I also have a collection of processors. All the old Intel and AMDs, couple of Cyrix, up to the point where no one is throwing them out (yet).
I don't have a 4004. If anyone has a spare sitting in the box and wants to sends it to me for free....

Surely anyone that's been into repairing PCs has a massive 'collection' of spares. 'That will be useful one day i'll hang on to it' is my reasoning......only very rarely (if ever) is it re-used. Technology moves on but hoarded parts just sit gathering age and dust. I must have a clear-out....oh wait....i might need that.....sounds familiar?

I just went through boxes and boxes of old parts. Exactly why do I still need a 5 1/4" floppy drive? Or even a 3 1/2" floppy drive? Or the old style "twist" floppy drive cables? Or lots and lots of internal and external SCSI cables? or external SCSI drive cases? ( I used to work at Sun Microsystems.) Or lots and lots of similar vintage parts? Or Molex power cables still in their shrink wrap. Or lots of old Ethernet cables with the "snap" broken off.

Just last week, I filled my entire recycle bin with these parts, the really large size version. And I still have many more parts to go.
