Windows 10 bluetooth issue
I have a pair of Sony MDR-XB50BS Bluetooth headphones that I've yet to successfully connect to my HP Spectre x360 running Windows 10 Home v 1709. When I attempt to pair them, the headphones immediately show up in the list of devices. It shows the exact model number and everything. Yet, when I select the headphones, it just attempts to connect for a long time and then finally gives the error message that it could not connect.
I've run the Bluetooth troubleshooter (it does nothing but turn Bluetooth off then back on), checked the Bluetooth drivers, ultimately uninstalled and reinstalled them, flashed the BIOS-- literally tried every idea I've found on the internet.
I've seen a few posts on the Microsoft forums from people complaining of similar issues and stating that they previously used their Bluetooth headphones without a problem until the Fall Creators Update. I got these headphones for Christmas so I don't know if I would've been able to connect prior to the update. When I tried to roll it back in order to check, it wouldn't let me because too much time has now passed.
Any ideas? It's crazy to think a problem this big hasn't been fixed by now, if it's really a 1709 issue.
