Scrolling on mouse pad doesn't work with Windows 10 update

Hello everyone! I updated to Windows 10 this morning, and after doing so realized that my side scrolling on my mouse pad (I'm on a laptop) doesn't work anymore. Googled, found out it was a driver issue, and went to download the correct driver.

However, acer aspire drivers don't have the touchpad driver updated for Windows 10 yet. Do I have to wait until the driver comes out to fix this issue? If so, any idea how long that could take? (They have the important drivers updated already, those for bluetooth and wifi)

Do you know which touchpad hardware you have, example: Synaptics or Elantech?

Use this: Synaptics TouchPad Controller Drivers Version 19.0.13.0 WHQL

Download, unpack, install and reboot. Good Luck!

The drivers worked, but the scrolling feature is now two finger instead of one finger on the side of the trackpad. Is that just how all scrolling has been changed to?

Pretty much but if you like the one finger scroll on the side then double click the Synaptics icon in the taskbar.

Then go to the Device Settings tab and click on Settings, this should bring you to the Synaptics touchpad settings where to can change one/two fingers scroll settings and others.

    Good luck!

Yeah, I already looked through the settings and there are no options for one finger scrolling . Scrolling by default is allocated a multi-finger gesture, but that's okay. I'd rather use two fingers and have it than not have it at all!

Thanks so much for your help! =D

I had this problem so thanks for giving me instructions on how to fix it.
Do either of you know how to enable one finger scrolling for Elantech? I absolutely hate this two finger scrolling - it's so unresponsive

It should be the same as per instructions above to get to the Synaptics Touchpad settings, the same should apply for Elan Touchpads.

One in there you should be able to find one and two finger scroll options.
