Windows 10 unable to detect USB pendrive except USB connection.

Yesterday morning my computer cannot detect my pendrive. I tried every USB port but none of them works. I'm also uninstalled & reinstalled portable device & universal serial bus controller drivers but even this method failed to work. Weirdly, my computer can detect my smartphone usb connection & the ESET Internet Security's antimalware able to scan my pendrive so I ruled out the USB ports fault. I don't think my pendrive is damaged because I bought it last Friday. If I'm not mistaken, this problem appeared since the new Windows update for Windows 10 1511 to Windows 10 1709. Nevertheless, I refused to make immediate conclusion without further advices from the expert. Hi Ray HP.

Noticed that Eset said it can't open several files.

So drive shows under Portable devices in device manager, does it show under Disk Drives?

If you open Disk Management what does it tell you about pendrive.

Have you tried Chkdsk on the pendrive?

Do you eject the pendrive when you remove it?

Terribly sorry for late reply due to school assignment. Yes it did showed "SanDisk Cruzer Blade USB Device" under "Disk drives" and "G:" under "Portable devices". The weird thing was everytime I tried to do chkdsk for all removable medias, the command prompt appeared & immediately dissapeared so fast. Of course I click "Eject" before remove any removable medias. It seems like update the removable media drivers failed to solve the problem. Speaking of disk management, you may refer to the screenshot for better investigation. After I accessed to "Devices & Printers", I saw my pendrive. Then I click "Open", the outcome was as one of the screenshots

If you could expand the heading disk drives in the device manager and show hidden devices. Would you suggest you remove driver and let it detect again.

Are there many hidden devices. Might clean some of those up.

Does this Cruzer have any king of encryption software included that you may have activity?

For chkdsk, are you opening a command prompt(admin) window?

I would also try disabling Eset to ensure it is not enforcing a rule set.

The other day there was someone who couldn't copy from USB or access unless it was plugged in at boot. Turns out they had Windows Controlled Folder Access enable... are you using CFA?

You might even want to run and use Uwe Sieber's excellent Device Cleanup Tool with the pen drive (USB flash drive) unplugged. That will remove all "stale" or "missing" devices from DevMgr and give you a clean slate against which to try again.

Yeah, I reinstalled the pendrive drivers for god damn many times. No hidden devices, no nothing. Just now I tried to access my pendrive on my friend laptop, I saw "San Disk Secure Access" application and so on. Speaking of Command Prompt, I access it through "Run" application. I don't think antimalware is the culprit. Before I update through Windows updates to get Cumulative update Windows 10 1709, the problem didn't occur.

Sometimes, USB just plain gets weird. I had a running issue with a USB 3.0 dual-drive caddy that had built-in "smarts" to do drive cloning independently. Turns out the mfgr had done a lousy job of writing its USB 3.0 drivers and the device would just go offline every now and then for no good or readily apparent reason. I ultimately had to trash that device and buy a (more expensive) one from a (more reliable) different vendor. That's just the way it goes sometimes, unfortunately. It all depends on how much time and effort you want to spend trying to fix something, as opposed to trying other alternatives (which, alas, usually involve spending more money).

To access Command Prompt(admin) you need to right click on start.

I'll step up and say that secure access thing is your issue.

I like Ed's app but that app just has me thinking.

If you don't have anything on the USB I would do a low level format, not quick, and see how it works.
