    Can't Enable Bluetooth

I recently purchased a Canon printer, which has wireless capability. The problem is, I can't find a way to enable bluetooth on my PC.
. I don't find any tile or button I can click on to do so. I assume my PC has bluetooth capability, but not sure about that (don't most modern laptops have bluetooth?) Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Hi Mr Ed.

Which Canon printer did you buy?

Most are not Bluetooth, they connect to your router using the same wireless that a laptop would, most on the 2.4Ghz band. Yours could be bluetooth and I could be wrong.

A lot require you to setup connected to your computer with a USB cable. In these cases the install gets the info from your computer or it asks you for information. (Network name and password) Once wireless is enabled you pull the cable when instructed.

Before you proceed lets understand what Canon printer you bought? I will also assume you have a wireless router, correct?

Thanks, both of you. I think Winuser clinched it. I took it for granted my PC had Bluetooth. Evidently, it doesn't. Dumb me for not checking. It's no big deal. The printer works fine via USB connection. BTW, the printer is Canon PIXMA MG3022. Can't complain, I paid only $30 for it at Walmart. I let Windows set it up via the USB connection and all is well. Thanks again.

Your printer is wireless and will connect to a suitable router. ( Just checked ) The printer does not have Bluetooth, it is standard wireless, 2.4 Ghz. ( the most common ).

Connected to your router all devices will have access to it including the ability to use Google remote print.

If you want to set it up wireless sure the forum can help.

The Pixma MG3022 has USB, Ethernet and Wireless.
To use Wireless just connect up to your Wireless Access Point. Anything connected to that WAP/Router can use the printer.

Neither the Printer nor Laptop has Bluetooth, however that is totally irrelevant.

You could try clicking "Forget" for unknown networks which enables your printer finding your network easier.
Go to Settings, Network and Internet, click WiFi and select "Manage known Networks" in the right pane click any unknown networks and select "Forget", reboot and the printer will find your network.

I should clarify that I don't use a router. I always use the WiFi available at this apartment bldg. Anyhow, it doesn't matter much. The printer works fine via USB. Thanks again to all. I'm still learning.

Well, that Canon copier broke down mechanically pretty quickly (paper feed). So, I returned it and ordered an HP printer instead. I've used HP before and was satisfied. I won't use it wirelessly, but USB connected instead.
