It looks like the partition table of your drive got corrupted. We shall use Minitool Partition Wizard Free Edition v 9.1 scan and find the partitions.

Download, install and run MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition v 9.1 from here. MiniTool Partition Wizard Free 10.2.2 Download for Windows / Old Versions / FileHorse.com ( Download the old version 9.1 only and not any later version 10.x or 10.x.x. That is why I am directing you to the old versions page)

Run Partition Recovery Wizard. On the left Pane click on Partition RecoveryWizard > Next > Select your Drive > Next > Full Disk > Next > QuickScan > Next. Allow the quick scan to complete. At the end of the quickscan you will get a window showing all the found partitions. Post a screenshot of it ( only that Window. No need of any background). After you have taken the screenshot click on Cancel button on that Window and close PW. You can run it again after I examine it and tell you what further to do.

That screenshot was a jolt to me. Unfortunately PW did not show any valid partition. Now be prepared for a long haul. We shall now try TestDisk and see what it shows. If TestDisk also does not show any valid partition then I need to directly examine sector 0, sector 63 and sector 2048 with bootice.

Now go to my post #6 in this thread Seagate 2 TB External HD file info corrupted - Windows 10 Forums , download TestDisk v 7.0 and follow the process outlined there.

In your case you will see your 1TB System drive and 250GB faulty internal drive. No need to prepare and connect a destination drive to copy now. Highlight your 250 GB problem disk and Proceed.

Does screen 5 show the partition/partitons on the drive?

Take and post all screenshots as you progress. ( You will take the screenshot of every screen before you press ENTER key). At screen 5 , halt and don't do anything. Just take a screenshot and then close TestDisk by hitting on the X at top right in the title bar. (CAUTION: Do not try to experiment with TestDisk, if you do not know what that Command will do.)

No need to do anything in a hurry. Do it at your own convenience.

Sorry, you haven't followed the thread I referred.

Screen 1 - [No Log] Press Enter Key
Screen 2 - Highlight your problem drive and press Enter
Screen 3 - [Intel] Press Enter Key
Screen 4 - Move highlight to [Advanced] Press Enter Key ( you seem to have left it in [Analyse] and pressed Enter)
Screen 5 - No action. Just take the screenshot and then close Testdisk.

Now Tell me the history of that 500GB drive. Did you buy it as an internal drive - or got it out of an External drive casing? Did you ever format the drive?

Quickly run Partition Wizard and post the first screen that shows your drives.. I want to check whether it is an MBR drive or GPT drive.

As I said earlier, I may have to investigate the drive with bootice, if TestDisk says No partition found. That is going to be a mere academic exercise in pursuit of fact-finding. May or may not lead to a fruitful solution without opening your wallet..

If you do not have the time/inclination to go through this elaborate process and you don't mind spending USD 30 to get done with it:

You had already run GetDataBack Simple and found that you can see all the files. GDB costs USD 70. Instead you can try active @ file Recovery. Run and scan the drive with the free demo version. You should be able to see all your files the same way as GDB. You can even open the files and check their integrity. If those are music files those should play in the default player. If everything is fine - some users had reported that active at file recovery is better than GDB -you may decide to buy a licence and copy all your files to another external drive. Download free demo version here Erased file recovery tool - Active@ File Recovery - for deleted files and damaged disks

If you on the other hand want me try the regular process, my time is always there.
