    Digital Buzz Sound

I've been trying to troubleshoot the cause of a super annoying buzz sound that occurs while I'm playing music or watching youtube. I thought it was caused by my on-board sound card going bad, so yesterday, I installed a new SoundBlaster AE-5 card. Everything seemed fixed until the buzzing started again today! I've uploaded a very short audio recording of the sound. It can be heard at 4, 6 and 10 seconds.

The same sound is heard through my headphones or if I route the sound to my monitor's speakers, so it does not appear to be speaker related.

    Please help!

    Thank you,
    Stu

I had something kinda similar. Mine was a sound every so often when I was not doing anything. We tracked it down to a setting in sounds. Control panel>Sound>Sounds Tab. I set my Sound Scheme to Windows Default. Somehow it changed. Any way hope this helps. If not, stick around. Lots of experienced people on this site.

    Copiman,

I tried your trick but it doesn't work for me. I was hoping I'd wake up to more suggestions this morning. I've tried multiple settings (with and without my new card) with no avail. Hopefully someone can help me.

    Thanks.

FYI, Bios and Chipset driver updated this morning. The problem still exists.
