I wonder if the problems are caused only by certain CPUs or chipsets

Just to note, this 960 EVO was only installed when I built my Coffee Lake system, and after I got the system setup and Magician installed(in the beginning of December 2017), it upgraded the firmware to the 3B version.

Used default settings, and no it didn't freeze up either:

Looks normal, seems like it is not affected by that bug.

And Brink has the same CPU and chipset as me(even the same motherboard series(ROG Maximus X)), and isn't experiencing any problems.

That's why the people having problems should tell Samsung their system specs.

I have the latest installed but haven't noticed any detrimental behaviour so far.

    So I think I'm reading that I should be fine, X Code w 8700K.

Cliff did you just apply firmware or did you do anything special like secure erase beforehand? I made backup yesterday, yet to test it validity.

I just let Magician do its thing, like I always have.

    But...
Samsung has pulled the 3B firmware update from it's site, and from Magicians update servers too, since some people have had problems with it..

If the Drive came with 3B6Qxxxx it is generally alright from my reading of the Samsung Forums , some have reported if the Drive uses the M$ NVME Drive and not the Samsung 2.3 Driver it is Okay too , so there are a few Variables.

Other than lag , ie programs opening slowly or micro-pauses , you can apparently see the issue in Task Manager>Disk activity as it will peg at 100% occasionally
