A little Googling suggests that the MP620 will work, if you:

    use the MiniMaster drivers:

    Product Support Details

and install them in Win 8.1 compatibility mode.

I'm disappointed that Canon didn't provide drivers as part of the Windows installation (they'd write them and give them to Microsoft for inclusion), or give you a work-around.

Same here bobkn I have used canon printers for years, and they have always helped with tech support, and drivers for me. Only thing I can think of is that his Canon printer must be real old, and no longer supported. ??

Yes it is old model, but you could always use the old official Canon drivers for it in compatibility mode. Don't expect Canon to release new drivers for Windows 10. They would rather make you give up and buy a new printer. Don't do them this favor!

Sorry to do them this favor; but feel like I've already erased a week of my life at their expense. Not enough hours nor days left in my life to continue this struggle. Other things have priority. I confess to have ordered a new Canon printer; a MX922 will suit me just fine (if it doesn't cause me any problems!). It has taken me years to say this, but I now have more than money than time. Thanks again to each of YOU who have tried to help! Sincerely, wayne.

P.S. yes, the printer is 'old.' My user's manual & Network Setup Troubleshooting pamphlet are both c. 2008

Well sorry you had to buy a new printer, BUT, maybe it is for the best anyhow, Now you can get the latest Windows 10 drivers from Canon.....don't use the drivers that come with your new printer.....get them from Canon, actually you can get them NOW before your new printer even comes. I just bought my new Canon MB2320 just a few months ago, did the same thing, downloaded the driver software from Canon, and only used them. Congrats on your new printer too!!!!

Phooey. I have A Brother HL-5150D, which is a monochrome laser printer. I'm not sure when I bought it, but it was before 8/2007. It's so old that it has both USB and parallel port interfaces. The drivers included with Windows (or Windows Update) work well.

At least on a relative basis, Canon sucketh.

I have an old HP Deskjet 895Cxi printer (90's, last driver for Windows 2000, not even XP!) and it works fine with the Microsoft drivers from Windows Update, even on 64-bit Windows. As with all Microsoft drivers, it supports basic printing only and draft/standard/best. It hasn't all the features and paper support of the OEM Windows 98 or 2000 driver At least in Windows XP I could install the Windows 2000 driver. In Vista and later this is not supported, I'm left only with the Microsoft driver...
