    Hi

I actually >>> RAN <<< it on my IP, it picked up a pile of Intel drivers ALLEGEDLY ready to update
Xchecked in updates there NOT showing????

These KB's appear to be RUN ONCE troubleshooters, and therefor do not appear within Installed Updates

So the moral of the story SAVE it

Can you please explain more? What did you run and what happened? I don't understand quite everything. Thanks!

Does anyone know the difference between updating the drivers via Windows Update and Device Manager?

WU sends what they think you need, thru device manager you can choose which compatible driver to install. Personally. I haven't found a single driver letting DM go to WU ti find it.

I agree with those who say "don't update just for sake being updated". Many times I can recognize those who (my impression) check every day for latest updates and are somehow disappointed (..ah, nothing again..) if there are none.
Ok, now and then, I check for some (hardware) updates too. That's in cases something doesn't work (for me) as it should. And before I execute (driver) update, I always read changelog: is my issue solved? No? Is there something else I would benefit about? Not really? Then why would I bother risking new trouble? Yes, it happened I needed to go back to older graphic driver.. and few days ago I also ditched latest Firefox browser and went back to v55 (issue solved).
In short: I'm no "up to date addict" anymore -and my PC works just fine for years. Ah yes, my PC.. Win7 x64 SP1 -not updated!

I just gave it a try for the lulz and I found a couple of drivers that could've been updated and not seen by WU.

    Hi
If you follow my first post, there's a link to the KB in the thread.

Folks read the description of what the new video driver is intended to fix or do.
Do you have that problem? If not don't get in a hurry to update.
Just because a video driver is new doesn't mean you need it.
With nVidia, many updates are for improvement for certain games.
Read what the driver does not just that it is new.

I might or might not have that problem, some older games just won't run complaining about some .DLLs. that could be it but they wouldn't run in W7 either. I'll still wait until official release.
