Ok cool. Thanks for clarifying. I'm more concerned about 3rd party programs like games and such.
So it was easy huh? Look crazy confusing to me.

    Just install the program..
Then open the executable you want to modify
Double clink on the ICON item on the left hand side
Finally in Actions on the top of the task bar select Replace Icon.. select the new Icon you want and save.

    Need any help ask

    Thanks for everything!
I'll give it a try this evening after I get home from work. If I run into any problems. I'll ask.

I tried it and it didn't work for me the way that I hoped. I used custom icon that are png based and Windows wouldn't let me replace the standard icons with png files.
    Thanks anyhow

There's freeware to allow you to convert from PNG to ICO or you can google and do it online.

I used TileCreator from windows store. It's just a bit tricky to use at first but follow the directions exactly as stated here and it will all fall into place. Now it only takes about 30 seconds to change my tiles/icons on start menu. Biggest thing is to remember to "run as admin" or else it won't work. Just go find the .png or .jpeg you would like to use as the tile (or icon) and apply.
