Don't get rid of File Explorer/Windows Explorer, it's part of Windows. It can be proven as to need by opening it then open Task Manager and find File/Windows Explorer [sometimes at the bottom of the list] and right-click to End Task, see what you have on the screen. You'll then need to restart to get things back.
The difficulty in doing that is it's contextually dependent. Plus there are many file types for which you might wish to create a new file.
Further, each 'new' document is based on a template, so it's actually quite a complex feature.
=============
Some possible advantages of (some) other file managers:
a. Fast display of folder sizes in a column
b. Dual pane built in
c. Tabbed (which you have in Win 11) - and can have in Win 10 using Qttabbar, referred to above, which adds many convenient features).
d. And a few add scripting - but I wonder how many would ever use that....
Features which I add with 3rd party tools:
a. Favourite folders
b. Recent files and folders
c. 'On top'
Yes you can partially 'replace' file explorer with a 3rd party program for routine file management- the more advanced ones have an option to set them as the default file manager as mentioned by some above. (e.g. Win key + e launches the 3rd party file manager etc).
But you can never fully replace it.
Note too that open and save as dialogues may look something like file explorer- but often are not.
