    Windows 10 Backgrounds


    Are used Windows 10 backgrounds stored in a certain folder? I have changed to new ones several times and thought about deleting the old backgrounds.

    Hi Patrick,

    If you speak of your own backgrounds then I wouldn't recommend deleting in any case.
    Unless you've placed a folder somewhere safe.

    If you installed deskthemepacks, all themes get a folder and the background is stored there.
    In
    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

    For unsaved themes:
    Windows stores a 'copy' of the current used background
    in
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes
    But this one gets overwritten each time you or the loop changes it!

    Windows original backgrounds are indeed stored in C:\windows\web as Josey mentioned above.
