and/or in windows 10 in general.
Im sure this is possible, just beyond me by a little bit. I use Link-shell extension which shows the files in the start menu being hardlinked to the ones in the control panel.
what Im attempting to do is delete/hide administrative tools from my start menu, but still hvae it appear and be accessible via the control panel.
Any takers?
nope. sort of. if you click the all programs button, in that view/panel - down at the bottom by easeof access/windows system folders etc etc.. administrative tools is listed as a folder.
i hate clutter/redundancy so i only want it in the control panel if possible.

see how its listed under the control panel flyout as well as with the rest of the program folders? I'd like to remove it from the latter but since they are one in the same (hard linked) if i even try to hide the folders in start menu they disappear from both places.

The reason it shows up in the All Programs list in Classic Shell is because that folder is in the directory where the default start menu gets its All Programs list too ( C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs ). Unfortunately, if you delete the shortcut folder from the Start menu folder, then it won't open in Control Panel either because the Control Panel uses the Start menu shortcuts folder instead of the actual executables from the System32 folder. I'm not sure if there's a way to point Control Panel to those instead.
yea i figured something like this was the case (sorta above my pay grade) and i also figured if it was doable it would take someone w/ a far deeper understanding of inner-windows than I :)
Perhaps someone w/ the know how will see this, or perhaps it isnt worth the trouble. Either way I had to ask.
Off topic but i cant stand how bloated windows 10 has become. So many apps you cant remove even with powershell. So much you cant customize. I cant even delete the ease of access folder (since that too can be accessed elsewhere) without a simple sfc/scannow just putting it back.
Wont even get on WDCM or UAC. Protecting people from themselves is beginning to become oppressive ;p
