Lock desktop icons positions?

    Lock desktop icons positions?


    I occasionally move the mouse pointer across the desktop and inadvertently drag icons to new positions. Is there a command or a feature that locks the desktop icons in place and can snap them back into position when this occurs?

    There are various 3rd party tools that save and restore desktop icon positions.

    Icon Restore
    Desktop OK

    if I recall- there is an extremely long thread on icons rearranging here where some of these are mentioned.

Hi all - This is especially infuriating after updating/changing graphics drivers. Does anyone know of a nice, small program that can lock the desktop in place so nothing gets scrambled? TIA! :)
All I found so far by Googling was that one should set 'arrange icons to a grid', or similar. That option is already enabled. In fact, the only icon I have on my Windows 10 desktop is the Recycle Bin, but any time other icons or folders are placed...
Another annoying bug in 1511 update. After the update to 1511, if you use "fast-switch user" functionality, you sill loose icon positions of the currently logged in user. All icons will be swept up to the left side of the screen. More...
Desktop Icon Positions Not Saving after connecting to TV with hdmi cable. This happened after install of November update, or 1511 (for the 11th month of 2015), or build 10586 windows 10 update. All help to solve issue appreciated. Thank you
