question, when Mega app is not launched the entry in context menu does not appear. only when app is launched it shows up, is this through the form of injection by the app into registry?

maybe I can launched the app once injection is in, then check out regedit and have that somehow copy it else where in context menu, ie send to.?
    Hi m18xr2,

It is possible for a program to add/remove registry items, but maybe more likely that it's changing a value from 1 to 0, to turn it on and off for example.

I think what you're trying to do is too much work for a very small gain. I also just dont know enough to help without spending alot of time myself, and it's quite likely a Mega update will do something to break your work even if you were successful.

Why not just remove Mega from the Context Menu completely, do you really need it?

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

thanks for replying. it is as you said its very likely a 0/1 for on/off situation. I specifically got the mega app because it can upload directly from context menu making it quick. instead of:

"open browser, go to mega, click upload, browse to direction of file/folder, select said file, click confirm"

    that can be replaced with

"right click on any file/folder, send to mega"

it has disable update function, but i'd assume even if it did update its unlikely it'll change much of it's context menu structure. so once I know how to get it going it'll be similar next time, assuming if I do update at all.

For anyone that still needs help, the MegaSync settings panel method still works.

The difference is that the latest version has shifted the setting to the bottom of the "Advanced" panel.

Just login to your Mega account. Open up the Sync app settings, click "Advanced", and CHECK "Don't show icons on the left pane of Windows Explorer"

    Done.

I am so glad I found this post>>

They have moved the navigation pane integration again. It is now under "General" in Settings of the MegaSync App>>>

Uncheck the box that says "Enable Windows File Explorer Integration" and it will immediately remove the entries both from This PC and also from the Desktop Toolbar for those of us whom still use that.

    Namaste...
