Still unable to specify network folder for desktop slideshow

Just installed 10240 or TH1 and I am still unable to specify a network location for the background pics. If this is a bug, I can't believe they haven't fixed it. Am I missing something?

Windows 10 is NOT a true desktop OS as is 7 or Microsoft Servers.
It is an ecosystem that is designed to sync to Phones and Tablets.

The settings app (WinRT) options have to be uniform for all synchronized devices.
Therefore, many of the standard Win32 based desktop features have been removed in Windows 10.

And they will not be returning.
There are edits possible in the registry.
    Cannot help there, sorry.

Got a handy link to something that confirms this?

Probably not. Windows 10 is still effectively a new rewrite of many of the applications and components, and so some features may be limited or only accessible by legacy methods. Give it time and it should show up in an eventual update, and maybe install the feedback app so you can ask for that feature.

That being said, I have my desktop picture library on my onedrive and it works. But you have to set your onedrive to store files locally or it will kill your internet.
