    Hello Antjac, :)

If you haven't already, you might see if setting the lock screen to use a picture, restart, and set the lock screen to use Windows Spotlight again may toggle it to work again at startup.
I have the same issue as @AntJac, the lock screen is set for Spotlight, and 'Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen' is turned on. When I lock the screen (say with Winkey+L) the Spotlight picture is shown and is used on the sign-in screen too. When I restart the PC it shows whatever is the current selection for the lock screen if it were set to 'Picture'. Spotlight is working in all other respects and regularly changes the picture.

No amount of changing the lock screen to Spotlight and signing out or restarting seems to be able to change this behaviour. It seems to literally 'Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen' - ie. whatever is selected for the lock screen in 'Picture', despite the fact that the lock screen is actually set to 'Spotlight' and not 'Picture'. I'm on Creators Update 15063.502.

Thanks very much Brink. I tried that to no avail and just done another re-register of the app to see if that sparks it back into life. I will leave my PC on for around about an hour now to see if it will set it as the lock screen as before i literally left it a few minutes before rebooting following a re-registeirng.

Following this re-registering i locked my PC and the image changed straight away from the default Spotlight airplane pic to another image. Does it take a while for it to "transfer" so to speak to the lock screen? I imagine if this does not work then an in-place repair installation of Windows is my final go to

Edit: I am also on 15063.502. It was literally working fine until the evening yesterday. It was working fine on the morning before i went to work.

    Many thanks
    Anthony

Usually, the lock screen at startup will show the lock screen of the last user. When you select a user on the sign-in screen, it'll change to the one set by that user.

Hopefully, today's updates (when available) may spark some life in it for you.

Is there a CU due today? The last one was only a week ago?

Today is 'Patch Tuesday'. Last week's was an extra one, for reasons best known to Microsoft.

Ah I see. Just installed it with no issues. Spotlight is the same though. Rather than do a repair install now I will wait for the Autumn major update. I think that's out relatively soon isn't it.
