Just realised. When I lock my screen now, on Spotlight normally you are supposed to get an option to like or dislike the picture. Since I reset my PC yesterday I don't have that option and there's no files at all in the Assets folder.

Is there a way to run a troubleshooter for Spotlight?

You should only see the like/dislike type questions when you lock the computer (Win+L), and not on the lock screen at startup.

About all you can do is reset Windows Spotlight.

If that doesn't help, then you could try fixing it with a repair install.

You're not being thick, just cautious. There are several alternative methods described in that tutorial, so it's understandable you may feel a little confused. The one you are using is described by Step 6.

Many thanks for the reply Bree. I'm on Windows 10 Pro.

I've noticed since I had the hiccup with my graphics card and I did a reset of Windows, I seen to be getting reliability history errors regarding updating of certain apps so hopefully this will solve everything

That was Strange. It wouldn't allow me to select what I want to change. Going to try the Reset option again in Recovery and see if that helps.

That didn't help either. I'm going to try the Iso from Media Creation tool. I'm a bit perplexed as to why it never gave me the option to keep my files though as, according to the walkthrough, if it doesn't do that then I have the wrong version but I'm on Windows 10 Pro post creators update. Very confused right now

Well it took a couple of months following a reinstallation of Windows but it's not working again. Funnily enough it works when you are logged into Windows and the images change straight away if you don't like them etc but on boot up the login screen is the default cave picture. The setting to enable the lock screen background as the sign in screen is enabled too. Perplexed as to why it's suddenly stopped working as it was working fine in the morning and then on the evening when I came back from work it defaulted to a non SL picture.

    Hello Antjac, :)

If you haven't already, you might see if setting the lock screen to use a picture, restart, and set the lock screen to use Windows Spotlight again may toggle it to work again at startup.
