    Worked for me.
What happens, does it change after a Restart?
No it does not change after restart, as I noticed lately its very random, but because I keep working I do not notice date missing until I really check the time, majority of the time the date is there, don't know when it disappears or what causes it to disappear, I really did not mess with any settings.

Because I use more shortcuts could be some short cut causes it to go away unknowingly, just guessing..

    Hmmm...,
K, let's use process of elimination:
    - is your resolution set native (recommended)?
    - is your DPI 100% or higher?
    - is it a laptop or desktop?
    - are you using Small Taskbar Buttons:

Date Not Showing as per Setting ddd dd MMM yyyy-000237.png

    and/or:
    - did you click Apply and OK on both windows:

Appreciate the step by step resolution.

    - Resolution is recommended
    - Its a laptop
    - I do NOT have small taskbar buttons
    - I have applied and OK (when changed to my desired format and soon as I click apply the date disappears from taskbar but the icons move left when changed from dd mm yyyy and icons move right when changed from dddd dd mmm yyyy)
    - About DPI I'm pretty sure its 100%, I will still recheck (right now not with my laptop, as soon as I am I will update about DPI as well)

    Thanks again..

    K,
when you get a chance, check a few more things:
    - you signed on as Admin?
    - check your region and timezone
    - disable the Clock from Taskbar settings and turn it back on
    - restart Explorer every now and then.

Gotta hit the hay soon, we'll see where you're at tomorrow.
    Good Luck! :)

All the below did not solve:

    Correct, signed as Admin
Region is correct as per the country
    Checked with killing explorer
Disabled clock in task and re-enabled
    DPI is 100%

However I did notice that this is reverse :

Date Not Showing as per Setting ddd dd MMM yyyy-image.png

Not sure if this is the case in your system, because the short date is showing as long and vice-versa.

EDIT : IGNORE THIS AS ITS BASED ON MY FORMAT FOR SHORT DATE WHICH IS ddd dd mmm yyyy

Here is something intriguing, I just changed it and it changed to the format I wanted.

I will keep observing what's going and update here.

    Hi again,

I thought it would be the last but nope..

So here is what I observed, all of a sudden I see something vanishing, you know when you don't look at something directly but it still is in your field of vision, and I realised the date was just there and it was no more, basically no change, no nothing, it just disappeared.

    Thanks..

    Hi again,

So here is what I observed, all of a sudden I see something vanishing in the corner of my PC screen, you know when you don't look at something directly but it still is in your field of vision, and I realised the date was just there and it was no more, basically no change, no nothing, it just disappeared.

I checked the event viewer as well but no clue in it.

    Thanks..

SORRY FOR TH DOUBLE POST, DID NOT REALISE IT HAD ALREADY BEEN POSTED.
