S.M.A.C.C - Superfly's Mouse Assisted Color Chooser: Tutorial Needed

I've downloaded & tried to use SMACC & was able to change the color of the inactive title bar. However, I'm confused about some of the terms & can't seem to get things to stick.

I want to change the Active Title Bar to Blue without changing anything else. The blue that I choose is Hue 160, Sat 240, Lum 120 & RGB 0, 0, 255. I then click OK, & File/Save Registry settings. But I don't know what the other options are for (see attachment).S.M.A.C.C - Superfly's Mouse Assisted Color Chooser: Tutorial Needed-smacc.pngThat is what is AccentColor, ColorizationColor, & AccentColorInactive? When I write to the registry, nothing changes. If I click on AccentColor, change it to blue & save to the registry, the Title Bar color changes immediately. Then, I try to save it as a theme (when I try themepack, the message says I must have a wallpaper, which I don't, and asks if I want to save it as a file). But when I log out & log back in, everything is back the way it was.

That's Windows 10 for ya. It's not your Imagination. They won't ever stick. But you may enjoy some of the changes after a reboot for a short period of time.

Hi Edwin. Thanks for the reply. I've been able to change the color of the inactive title bar. It's the Active Title Bar that gives me trouble. I don't know what keys would have to be modified, except for AccentColorInactive because that was described in Change Color of Inactive Title Bar in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Customization Tutorials . Besides, I assumed that Superfly's tweak merges changes into the registry & I don't know why that would differ if I did it directly.

It would be nice if I could get a complete list of keys & values that go with each customization, but I haven't seen that anywhere.

Thanks, Cliff. I see that. I just don't know what the actual key in the registry is called for each one of those. e.g. when I changed the InactiveTitleBar, it was HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\AccentColorInactive. I don't know what the others are called. Also, I'm not sure what the 3 options at the bottom of the SMACC dialog box do; i.e. AccentColor, ColorizationColor, etc. I click ActiveTitle, change the color & nothing seems to change. When I then click on ColorizationColor (or AccentColor) & change the color, it does change the title bar color (after writing to the registry). But it doesn't give me an unsaved theme to save, as far as I can tell. I'm not sure what steps to use.

You need to save reg settings for accent color and AC inactive to take effect, and they will immediately, don't mess with coloration color, for all other settings, after saving to reg, you need to sign-out and back in, or restart.

There is a thread for themes created by forum members here, it's long(mostly my fault as I tend to post my work in progress, but you might learn a little for by scanning through it, start about here: Windows 10 Themes created by Ten Forums members - Page 53 - Solved - Windows 10 Forums

Thanks, Cliff. I'll check it out & see what I'm doing wrong.
