I would like to change the default background color in the Windows Photo Viewer program, not the new app, the original Photo Viewer. I have tried the registry key fix but it does not seem to work with Windows 10.
(Create new DWORD 32bit value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Photo Viewer\Viewer)
Has anyone figured out how to do this in Windows 10?

You have to open registry and go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Photo Viewer\Viewer
Then on right panel , right click and create a new DWORD 32 bits you should name as " BackgroundColor " ( without the quotes )
set an hexadecimal value with this format ffC70490 for example in pink ( you have to always begin with ff followed by the 6 color code as you find .here :
Hex color codes, schemes and harmonies.
replace then the # with ff before the 6 next characters code
I made a tuto on that last year on youtube but english is not my native language ...
Mine has a black background so ff000000

The new value has been created, DWORD(32BIT) value data= ff000000, in this location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Photo Viewer\Viewer
However, there is no noticeable affect on the program.
Did that method work on your Windows 10 Pro?
I am running Windows 10 home, and it was the free update from Windows 8.1
Perhaps a difference between Home and Pro edition?

Yes , both screenshots come from my current rig ( windows 10 pro X64 anniversary 14393.222 )
I don't think there is a difference between them for this setting but to be confirmed

Maybe it's because you didn't put the right name if I take a closer look at your registry key screen lol
I see " Backround Color "instead of "BackgroundColor" .................

Rem , when you edit registry keys you absolutely need to respect the correct syntax- command otherwise it won't be working at all :)
mykou I think you are correct.
I have tried to find the changes made by the Photo Viewer Background Changer and can only see the same value created.
But it is spelled correctly. Perhaps that is the only change made by the program.
