    Changing explorer.exe icon?

Is there a way to do this without creating a shortcut then doing it? I mean that works until you click it. Then the actual icon shows up. IconPackager can change a lot of stuff but not this yet.

    Use Resource Hacker
open C:\Windows\explorer.exe and replace the icon
NOTE: backup explorer.exe so you can restore back to original.
