    Hi RECONBunny

Type File Explorer in Cortana. The app should appear at top of list. Right click app and then Pin to taskbar.

If you mean, right beside the Start Button, you'd have to hide the Cortana and Task View Buttons first:

right click on the Taskbar and check/uncheck the appropriate items:

I also notice looking at your screen shoot there are two vertical bars beside the task view icon. This may mean you've sized this. Unlock Task bar, right click in it, make sure Lock task is not clicked, then dragged the section open by clicking the double bars with mouse. It may already be there hidden.

Do you not already have the default File Explorer yellow folder icon on the Taskbar? It [and others] can be moved as desired except maybe as close to the Start button as desired. And in Start, W section you should find File Explorer and right-click to Pin to Start, will show as a Tile at the bottom of the list but can be dragged to a more convenient location in the Tiles.

I think there is some confusion here.

    1) I am using "Use small taskbar icons" I turned that off for a moment and it didn't let me move the File Explorer there.

    2) There is no "Official" option to add File Explorer there, which is why this post is here.

    3) I do have File Explorer pinned to the task bar. But I want it IN the Quick Launch area next to Cortana/Task View.

Create a File Explorer shortcut and put it in your Quick Launch folder then drag that over to the Task View button.

Sorry at work and was busy. I understand what you're telling me. But where is the QL folder?
