Yes, this is a crucial matter. We need to be able to save the exact position of icons within a folder. Say, one folder in particular.

    For instance, suppose C:\1.

We can set up an entire intricate arrangement within that folder, icons exactly placed. Including files, folders, shortcuts.

Everything in C:\1 is precisely where you want it to be, when viewed, say, full-screen, maximized.

DO NOT F*CK WITH THIS FOLDER ICON ARRANGEMENT!!! AT ALL!!!!

A little batch file for "Save Arrangement" and "Restore Arrangement" would be within the folder.

This folder would be like a super-white board. We can move and arrange as needed. Move out of. Return to.

And have others, for other projects, needs. C:\2, C:\3, etc.

Seems completely no-brainer to me. Why hasn't this been done yet??

No idea why. You are posting in a thread that is 4 1/2 years old from last post. Your idea is gonna get lost here, probably. Why don't you start your own thread and call it what you wish. Just a thought.

It hasn't been done because people are afraid of competing against Microsoft. I actually proposed on a development forum that someone should create a new operating system to take on Windows. All the programmers ridiculed me for suggesting that you can create a product that can compete against Microsoft. Initiative is a rare commodity among people as uncertainty is inherently scary to humans. On the other hand, it provides a huge opportunity for someone with initiative.
