I actually use Customizergod to change the folder Icon. It may even take a couple reboots for em to take effect. Whole lot less headache.

With Customizergod, can you keep unchecked the option " always display icons and not thumbnails " ?

This is exactly what I was trying to do, I like the Mac icons but use Windows, basically I wanted all my folders the Mac blue folder .ico, can't anyone modify the imageres.dll to do this and upload it (I'll trust you)

seen some tutorial on youtube but the res hacker wasnt working

just found this Change Your Windows 7 Library Icons the Easy Way

    %appdata%\microsoft\windows\libraries

didnt try it yet but seems like it would work

I'd like to replace the default imageres.dll folder ( the yellow one ) with the folder attached here
Could anyone help me, please ?
I tried with Resource Hacker but i find it very difficult
    I'm using Windows 10 Pro x64
    Thank you in advance
So I recently found from a reddit post, imageres.dll is no longer imageres.dll, it is now in imageres.dll.mun in a new folder.
    C:\Windows\SystemResources\imageres.dll.mun
    Hope this helps!
