Here is a real complicated Tile Pack installation. It's good for all self made VBS and BAT files you want on the Start Menu.
For this example, that I created for myself is a batch file for SFC & DISM. System file checker and WinSXS folder cleanup and file repair.

What the tile icon & tile looks like:
    Note   Note
I used this shield for this batch file, because it fixes System Files and uses elevated priveledges

    1. Download this File Pack: Attachment 62678
    2. Place it wherever you want(I placed mine in Documents Library in a folder for batch files).
    3. Open Properties and unblock it(bottom right in the General tab).
    4. Then extract it(unzip)
    5. Leave everything in the folder. If you want a copy of the shortcut on your desktop, just copy & paste it there.
    6. Copy the shortcut and paste it in C:\Users\YourNameHere\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    7. Now open the start menu and under all apps, it should show up.
    8. Right click it and pin it to the start menu and it should show up.

When creating a tile you will need the .png for the tile, and the same, converted to .ico for an icon(used for the shortcut).
Remember to use advanced options in the shortcuts properties so it runs as admin if needed.

When you have everything your file & tile folder should look like this:

    Nice one @Cliff S!
Forgot we can do this but, I've tested to confirm!

Glad we don't need bat2exe after all.
So creating a shortcut of the BAT and manually pinning moving the shortcut to start solves a great deal.

In this case your VM launchers are all ready to go as well.

    @Hopachi
It doesn't work with the VM because, I guess the tile pack NEEDS to be with the exe, just like it was with the bat file.

This is how my Windows Insider VM desktop folder is arranged:

I tried it the same way as the batch file, and normal, but it just creates the default mini icon tile
Unless you can think of something I'm forgetting?

It might be time I learn from you how to create a bat2exe:)
Then I can go to town on system32 stuff like Defrag & Optimize drive or Disk Cleanup, and if possible, cpl shortcuts.

Ah I forgot, exe is in system32....
You're right. Shortcut isn't enough for tiles.

I found out how to customize the Chrome web site tile icons now too!
To create the web site app tiles in the first place, go read posts 617-619 in the today thread: Today [3] - Page 62 - Windows 10 Forums

After they are created open file explorer too C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\48.0.2564.103\VisualElements, be sure to use the current Chrome version number. Then paste the same PNG icon you used to create your Chrome tile(for an example see: Solved Windows 10 Themes created by Ten Forums members - Page 131 - Windows 10 Forums)
You will need rename the original icons by adding a number at the end of the name(easier to remember original name) then paste your new tile icon in and give it the name "logo", then paste the icon again in and name it "smalllogo"
the folder should now look like this:

Now when you pin your site "apps" to the start menu, they will look like this:

    Note   Note
You might want to save the two new tile icons somewhere for when Chrome upgrades, as I am not yet sure if they carry over(I doubt they will though) as I just figured out how to do this:

I worked this up for my grandpa so it wouldn't override the other accounts on his computer. I figured I'd share it here as well in case anyone else might like it.

I only use RAR format now so if you don't have a RAR opener, I would suggest 7zip since it's free. [I personally use WinRAR].

    great stuff here

i am gobsmacked by the efforts here, and as such I had a request. I am a writer, and unfortunately suffer from SEVERE (often crippling) adhd. I was wondering if someone here could create a theme for me? I need one that is minimal(!) , sleek, responsive,b and elegant without being gaudy or "elegant" or showy.

to get an idea of what I am after, I offer the following pic. (color flip word press theme). as a rule I like grey, black, white, and dark blue. dont like pictures or flashy icons/cursors/fonts. just simple, unfussy, and easy on the eyes. any help would be so appreciated.
