It was a bit hard finding a log with transparent background so only the logo would show, and that as a .png, because if it's another file type(.ico or .jpeg) it loses the transparency when I use Paint to do it. Resizing in Paint is no problem though. And this goes for shortcut icons too.
True, transparency is harder to get but watch out for jagged edges if you remove whites.
Why don't you use Gimp to 'color to alpha' and add transparency? Way easier.
Resize in Paint.... I didn't hear that one. Well, as long as it works fine...

For more decent scales, let Wilber do the work:

Yeah your right about the jaggies, it looks like when someone turns on Edge Enhancer on their HDTV and it starts showing compression jaggies.
I just haven't quite gotten the hang of GIMP yet. It's powerful, but also not so simple to use(for a lay). So many choices and many I don't know what they do, and the ones that I do know have waaay to many choices.

Ok that resize seems to work fine; as long as edge smoothing works.
I've learned a decent amount of the Gimp options I need, but I still don't know many of other options either.
Start with the basics you need: scales, transforms and in time you'll be up using more functions.

I saw and posted too, now. I had no problem getting the back ground color, does his png have transparency or did it possibly lose it when converting?

Just did one for Defender now too. one question, which is the name that shows on the tile, special when the .exe file name does not match the program name. like in this case instead of Defender the .exe file is called MSASCui so I made EVERYTHING it the tile pack use that. Which is the one I can rename, to show the actual program name, on the tile.

Craig, I thought maybe a remastering of the program icon for SMACC would we nice, in case you want one:
    Attachment 60273

Got an idea in RGB in mind so I used the theme app preview of my CopperSunset theme (Red) @Cliff S Cliff's Lawn theme (Green) and Windows 10 official theme (Blue) to blend it all in GIMP.

If it's not possible to add it, no problem; if you need PNG, we can convert the ICO files.

    Cheers!
Yup, looks good...Will add it - I do rely on you guys for the "eye-candy"

Windows Defender... renames of executables would be out of the question.

You might try to turn off the tile text:
    Code:
    ShowNameOnSquare150x150Logo="off"

The initial icon was no png: it's actually the default icon colored by some mysterious thing to grey...
