    Addition to last post:

    If you know how to work with RGB settings you can also copy the reg file and create your own color combinations.

    It, very basically works like the dll files that one put's in SYSWOW64 and System32 for creating a theme pack which links wallpaper, color, and customizations to the window chrome in the Windows UI. But this only changes certain color settings for one instance at a time. and not for all themes(unless you click and activate it for another and resave the theme with a name).

    It is only for the default(setting), but only for the one "theme" you create. When you choose, for example, one of the themes that come with 10 or any other theme, then it will go to the usual white & white again until you click the theme you created with these reg entries.
    I don't know if I'm explaining this right, so if you're not sure of what I mean, please say so:).
    I got it, it kind of works if you use Classic Shell but bot everything.

    Yeah some what in that direction. I actually like the look better(a neat contrast., it's like a UXStyles theme without turning on the theme patcher.

    @Edwin, What do you think of this: I'm going to create another account, say name it Themer, and use that one for when I go hacking/changing SySWOW64 and System32 .dll's and changing registry color values, so I won't corrupt my real account. I would probably use sandboxie or better yet Toolwiz Time Freeze as protection and test environment.
    I guess you could try it. Myself, I would get completely out of my 'good' system and dual boot a test OS. P•I•T•A but safer!

    I don't have any extra keys lying around. But I am planning on getting a 500GB Samsung Pro for my desktop, then I can run a VM and then I guess join back up in the Insider program and test that way, I wouldn't have to set up everything like on my host, just a few basics like Ccleaner & PicPick and of course where would I be without Process explorer. Then use the insider versions as my playground(which is actually good to see how future "current builds" will be effected.

    (Firefox users should create a user style in C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\***************\Chrome to ensure inactive tabs remain visible.
    Paste the following code into Notepad, save it as UserChrome.css and place it in the aforementioned folder:

    Code:
      tab:not([selected="true"] ) {

          color: rgba(255,255,255,0.95) !important;}
    Note: Turn off Colors and Transparency in Settings before switching to High Contrast.

    Enjoy! :)

    @Edwin I love those colors, Another thing to put on a growing list to create with my color reg file for an unpatched look. I'll get back to you for the RGB values:).

    In earlier Windows adjusting the appearance was relatively simple. I'm not blind, the high contrast themes available on Windows 10 are just creepy and way too much for what I need. I only want simple, black background solid color desktop and contrasting solid task bar that is visible, (white fonts on dark color, dark font on light color). The window bar colored, and different color or no color when it is the inactive window, and the blessing that I could pray for is highlighting that highlights, and a scroll bar that has a visible bar within the scroll bar. I am pretty sure highlighting actually works and am certain there is a bar int he scroll bar, but I can't see its. It's not for lack of trying, I've been doing most all things "computers" since you had to program a C64 to have it do what you wanted. This Windows 10 has been a curse to me since starting in so many ways. I never crashed before Windows 10 (on this computer)... well that's for another discussion.

    Can anyone make a simply theme, no desktop photo, high contrast highlighting and high contrast scroll bar. I can't. Thanks if there is help out there. As much as I've read it appears MS has determined to have it their way with Windows 10.

    Hi Gary, I was just curious, have you given the reg file a shot?
