My eyes never get sore because I use a calibrated HDTV as a monitor:)
2 expert settings with all Dynamic & noise reduction edge enhancer & Real Cinema CRAP turned OFF and calibrated with a friends Spyder4TV HD. It's set to 6400k(real midday sunlight). I use "blurry is better" sharpness settings(like natural eyesight) and 10 point IRE Gray scale settings.
Another words when I see the local news, the grass and trees are the exact same color as outside my window. I also have my PC's HDMI port calibrated.
That's good but it's opposite with me, I use computer and monitor as TV and don't have problem with colors in news and movies etc., that I can adjust in the program, only with bright white background in programs with white background.

Is there any way to change the colors on the title bar as per the picture when highlighting a file such as a zip file so it stays the same as the bar or at least so it doesn't look like a lolly shop :)

Thanks for all the credit & testing Cliff!
I'll leave that theme as it is. Glad to see the colors are well balanced now.

Question Cliff, after you download the "sunset3.zip" I am assuming this is the same one your talking about, how do you install this theme?? I grabbed it yesterday, but it did not make all the changes that I saw in some of your screenshots. Only changed title bars and my desktop screen, nothing else. So what did I do wrong??

I just right click the zip file, choose properties, unblock, apply, OK, extract it to where I wish, double click it, and it applies and "installs" in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization.

    lolly shop...

    indeed!

    Hi shimshom,

Those colors aren't accessible through theme colors I'm afraid.
The only way to reduce the colorization (you'll still have the border) is by using a special High Contrast theme.

For example, my Astronomer / Night Mode HC theme, uses only red and black and removes all removable colors through theme colors:

What is left, those borders and white text on Desktop cannot be changed.
This is based on the HC Midnight series of themes in the link below.

Browse all the themes posted in this (large) thread, I'm pretty sure Cliff made some interesting High Contrast combinations.
For more info and other themes on high contrast, check out my special themes thread on EightForums.

    Win8 !?

    Note   Note

Win8 themes are compatible with Win10.

Otherwise I'd have a hard time right now transferring and converting all that I once posted.

But for a normal theme without high contrast: you cannot change those ribbon colors without third-party customizations.

    Cheers!

    Hello Mike,

As Cliff said, extract the zip first. Pretty sure it worked though.
It depends on the the open programs on how those colors get applied, I find it a bit odd myself but it's normal some programs (older ones) get more gray and orange than others (new - modern?).

Do you have any screenshot to show us?
