    @Cliff S
    One thing that jumps in my mind: ThemeTool.exe

    Is There a Silent Command-Line Operation to change theme? - Page 2 - Windows 7 Help Forums

    themetool.exe

    Never looked into this so far but ThemeTool seems important; since it can silently change/set a theme.

    For instance I've noticed after using my CopperSunset theme that if you reboot it can loose its orangy background color, gets back to white set as 'unsaved theme'. Maybe the system considers the background to be in an unsafe margin (too dark?) and changes theme parameters.

    I only had that when sync themes was turned on.
    But what I do get is, sometimes when using shuffle wallpapers,
    the taskbar, start menu & friends accent color changes to a blue color when using automatic color pick from wallpaper,
    even though the paper has no blue.
    Then either I have to restart explorer, or I get nerved enough to set a color permanently.

    @Wynona,
    I just slightly modified the Twilight business theme, and swapped the teal out for a grey. If you would like this, I can upload you a copy of it. You will then need to download the Inactive title bar coloration reg file in the original post, and also go to the link posted for Horace's blue neon cursor(an absolute must, it give the theme that extra kick, as the neon blue goes great with the included wallpaper:)

    Just let me know if you want it:

    No issues with accent color here. Sync? Where do I find it?
    The changed color is from Notepad background & co.

    Regarding ThemeTool: I can't find it. You can get it from Win7 but then you'll need .NET 3.5 feature on.
    Or this tool here: How to change a Windows theme from the command prompt

    Conclusion:
    What you found there in your previous post (diagnostics) is a piece of troubleshooter 'archive' IMHO.

    Appearance Troubleshooter doesn't exist in the Control Panel menu, just like WINSAT. From your archive there you can run the AERO Troubleshooter but that would give you the message below, in other words: "sorry man, he's fired and doesn't work on your PC anymore."

    Nah, thanks anyway. I have so much going on with this desktop that I don't want to change things around for now. We're expecting company in a while and then will go out of town for a few days. And I'll have to leave the rest of the computer restoration until I get back.

    I have to apologize for not getting the spreadsheets in order for the Desktop Themes and the Theme Packs. I really wasn't expecting the computer problems I've experienced in the past few days.

    On top of the computer problems, we're expecting company today and then we're going out of town until about Wednesday, which wouldn't be an issue if my computer had cooperated. :)

    I promise I'll get right back on it as soon as we get home.

    There is no fire Wynona, enjoy your company and get your PC back in perfect working order first.

    Thanks, Cliff. Got one reset (practically a clean install) and one clean install. Just gotta get the rest of my stuff reinstalled. I'll be taking Lappy with me and hopefully get that blasted Skype web app off it! That is something really nasty without all my other ills.

    I don't think so, Cliff. Isn't that the Skype that comes with Windows 10?

    What I'm talking about is the Skype for Business web app; the one that hooks into the browser and joins a Skype session like we have with Kari. Because I have Skype for Business, the web app interferes and won't let me log in at all.
