Question: When grabbing the link to the Desktop Themes, it's about 90 miles long! I'm pretty sure there's a way to shorten the link with something like bit.ly, but I know nothing about it.
Reasoning for shortening is that not everyone will have big honking monitors. The font will show much smaller on laptops and Surface Pros too. Even 'droids can now use Excek.
Yeah, when I create spreadsheets, they're normally for printing, but we don't have to print this one. Still . . . habit is strong . . .
Thanks. We do what we can. It's indeed a massive thread to browse through.
I've stared this 'advanced' theming on EightForums. After a bunch of releases you reach the maximum of theme combinations. I only keep a few good themes installed, otherwise you loose track... and disk space.
I joined this thread, thanks to Cliff, when I saw it's actually a follow-up of the Special Themes.
Compared to Cliff's massive releases I feel retired, but in a good way. It's still nice to contribute.
Is this for posting on the forum?
Then the links will auto-short a bit after posting. The'll take a portion of the title.
If you place one link on each row it should do fine.
Don't know if it's possible to short them all in one with bit.ly or goo.gl but one by one will take some time.
Is this for a Excel / PDF printed file?
Thanks for the work you do in any case!
Yes, it would of necessity be posted to Ten Forums.
For now, it will reside on my OneDrive for Business as an Excel file. I can allow 2 to 4 people access with a password, but I'm pretty sure Microsoft doesn't allow a whole bunch of people to access it. They'd think we were pirating. So it's out for it to be permanently located there.
What I think should happen is that I list all the Desktop Themes, the author could supply the description if it isn't given in the post or if a better one is needed and the links could be "revised" if I can figure out how or if someone else would do it. I'm just not sure that TenForums would shorten the links if they're in a spreadsheet.
Here's what I have so far:
