    Can't Change Lock Screen Image

I am trying to change the image on my Lock Screen but when I click on a replacement image the spinner just keeps going round and nothing happens. All was working well the last time I changed the image but that was weeks ago. Any thoughts please? I have also discovered that I cannot turn off the option "Show lock screen background picture on sign-in screen".

I've seen a report of someone claiming to fix this via
    SFC /scannow
from an elevated (admin) command prompt
but that didn't work for everyone.

    Please see ideas here:

Check for any differences wrt to Win 10.

Given your timescale I appreciate System Restore would not be likely to be relevant, and even restoring a disk image (we strongly recommend disk imaging for recovery and backup) would be inconvenient.

    Good luck!

Many thanks Dalchina. I will go through these options although playing with the registry is beyond my abilities. The only changes that have been made recently are the Windows Updates and I suspect that if that is the problem lots of computers might have been affected. The other change was an update to my graphics card driver.

You say "Check for any differences wrt to Win 10." What do you mean by "wrt" please?

    - the first is from Win 8 days... probably ok, just a cautionary note.

(Standard recommendation with the registry is to back up before doing anything.. for example you might
    a. make a backup of the registry
    b. Create a system restore point
    c. Update your disk image set (we very strongly recommend the routine use of disk imaging so you can recover from many disasters- even disk failure or major corruption- usually without technical help).)

The instructions were for W10 and W8.1 so you should "check for any differences with respect to Win 10".

Three weeks ago I was invited to update my AMD R7 250 Graphics Card Driver. I have just rolled back to the previous version and all is now well with my Lock Screen images. I have posted on the AMD forum and I hope someone from AMD will pick this up because it is not good enough. Thanks for all your replies.

Thanks for letting us know.. that's an 'interesting' quirk. Glad it's working.
