The first one was 100x100 pixels
The second was 99x99 pixels.
I did that because I thought maybe the first file(not picture) size might have been too large by a few bits, but it was ok after I tested it with my account.

is the first option where you just link to a picture on the net or in the forums.
Uploading for signatures and avatars works better.

You could try linking to the avatar to see if that works...

Hot linking said invalid file, I tried saving it with photos and paint 3D, still no luck....

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 146.5 KB (whichever is smaller).
Mine is 141.xxKB

Maybe its a member status thing?

So it is. I always thought 100KB. Just checked and it was on W7.

John increased it quite awhile ago(to my enjoyment) as it is really hard to get the file size of a GIF down(as you know).
