How do you remove it? Hack a dll.
Idea (Win 7) here.
How to Remove “Get Help” Button from Command Bar in Windows 7 Explorer? - AskVG
I searched the internet for:
remove Help in file explorer.
Of course this would be reversed by
sfc /scannow, an upgrade or perhaps an update, an in-place upgrade repair install.
Or tell MS they should stop pretending to be helpful.
You got lucky , I made a tutorial on my YT channel :) ( start at 08:21 min) if you wanna see it live
Windows 10 custom : theme visuel et ruban conserve - gsw953 mod 🎂 - YouTube
easy !
get " customizerGod" there:
CustomizerGod
follow my screenshot and click change button at bottom for whatever icon or bmp, jpg of your own
Note: don't play around with any icon as customizerGod don't support all windows 10 locations ATM
But trust me :) tested on windows 10 pro 14393.576
bye !
dalchina: I went to the link and opened the file in Resource Hacker, yet the layout in there doesn't look like the picture. There are some other entries that show in plain text (not where that exact location is), but this one in binary ASCII layout. (Does yours show the same thing?)
mykou: That's a cool little program that I tried out and is pretty nice. I found a blank gif file from online to replace the image with, which actually made the blue question mark go away, yet there's an empty box there instead. So if I put the mouse there, it shows the tooltip for the help, and I can still press the button. It's a great app that I'll hold on to, but do you know of another app to make that empty box disappear too?
Unfortunately as I mentioned that idea relates to Win 7... looks like it's changed in Win 10.
MS appears to have a definite policy of not being 'helpful' compared to the embedded help in Win 7.
Yea that's too bad. At least I changed the image of the button (using mykou's formula) to just a plain blank space, yet the button is still there if I hover the mouse there. But this is okay for now I guess.
