How do I restore image on Windows 10 login prior to entering password?

    Hi,

Since a recent windows update, when I load up Windows 10 I have an 'issue' where the screen that normally has a photo is black. Clicking or pressing to enter password then reveals the image together with the password box for logging in.

I appreciate that this is hardly life changing, but I did like to look at the images without the Windows login boxes.

Your advice would be most appreciated. :)

    Kind regards,

    Simon.

Hello, you're referring to the lock screen, of which there are several instances (after a restart, after log off, after resume from sleep, and Windows key + L - lock).

Have a look at the setting here:

    Hey Dalchina,

Thanks for the point towards the settings pages. Unfortunately this hasn't altered my issue. I still get the initial black screen with the love heart in the top corner asking me whether I love the image, together with a couple of weblink sentences vaguely linked to what the image is. When I click the mouse to get the login page, lo and behold the image appears!

I realise this is hardly the stuff of nightmares, I would like to solve this though! Any further pointers would be appreciated.

To all on the forum - Happy New Year!

    Hi, happy New Year.

Following a restart, the lock screen displays a picture from your PC, even if set to Spotlight. I.e. the source of the picture after a restart may be different.

You may find this helpful: (v good free tweak tool) - and see the explanation from link in GUI

Can you confirm that if you sleep and resume your lock screen displays a picture, likewise Win key + L?
