How to move app icon from taskbar to tray

Hi, I'm looking for some way to move icon of any app currently working from the taskbar to tray, like for example Skype (with the new version from Windows Store that feature has been removed) or some other programs that just run in the background doing their thing and I don't need to see their icons but I want to keep them on my screen. All the programs I've found so far work in the same way, they put the app in the tray when I minimize it but I want to keep it visible on my screen yet not on my taskbar - is that possible?

No.

You would have to assign each app, that you don't want to see, (or identify), on the taskbar, a 'blank' icon.



Probably the best solution would be to use 'Virtual Desktops' and move the app, you don't want to see, to another desktop:

Thanks guys I'll check it out. I don't really need virtual desktops I already have 3 monitors, that's why when I have many things open my taskbar is pretty crowded. Binding apps to their respective taskbars instead of all of them is pretty good too.

Thank you for working with me on this and your patience. I operate in Windows 10 & these same commands are not coming up. I opened BlueStacks in file manager, right clicked on the folder & see below what I get. I also right clicked on the title bar with BlueStacks open & all I get are the listing commands of 'Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, Close'. Am I not seeing something you are trying to help point me to? Thank you again...

the "Links Toolbar" is hidden by default, but can be made visible by right-clicking in the taskbar area and selecting Toolbars->Links.
Then you can unlock the taskbar and add application shortcuts to the links toolbar by dragging and dropping. Lock the toolbar and see if your app shows up in Links toolbar.
