Moire is classed in some circles as a fault caused by certain photographic processes - think of the scanning technique of the TV camera - when it reacts with a series of closely spaced lines, (Never wear a fine lined or fine check shirt on a TV interview ).

As this sort of effect can spoil the original image and allegedly even cause photosensitive epilepsy, many graphics and Video editors actually include filters to remove or at least mitigate the effect.

With monitors and TVs you can reduce the effect by TURNING OFF that edge enhancement crap(all Dynamic junk for that matter), and reducing the sharpness level.
Any one who has researched on calibration, will learn the first rule of setting sharpness: "Blurry is better!"
