Is it possible to make the animations smoother?
Hi there, welcome to the forums!
That would require more frames, resulting in a bigger file-size. I've decided to keep the total frames around 54 when I made those. That's the original Aero spinner times three: 18x3. But indeed this is quite unsmooth compared to the boot-up screen.

Possible to make smoother? Yes but in the long run. That would require a start from scratch since I don't have more frames in the current spinner.
I wonder how many frames we'll need to make it acceptable smoother. Nevertheless the lowest acceptable file size / frame amount would be the way to go. Nobody likes to wait for a loader to load, in the worst case scenario. Although today's computers are more than capable of handling the extra frames, if the file format also supports it.

For reference; I've used the "Windows8 Loader" animation from Preloaders.net
    Preloaders.net - Windows 8 loader - rolling balls

You can use "edit/download" option to play around with the animation and pick one that fits.
By default the presented frames are 75, I've used 54. I'm not sure if a bigger frame amount would affect animated cursors in any way; of if any frame limits exist for the ani format, but it's all trial and error for now.

My favorite cursor was the "Classic" from Stardock's Oranda suite for Cursor XP (it's the middle one in those shown below). Unfortunately their software doesn't work with Windows 10.

The cursor sets are well hidden in the Oranda suite executable. Does anyone know a way to pull out the cursors and then install them in Win 10?

From what I recall Stardock uses some custom formats, not the ones Windows uses.
That pack is a buy-only option unfortunately. But by downloading a free pack, just for testing, I get a *.CursorFX file. Without CursorFX I have no idea how you would read the file.

It's been a while, but woke up after the thread updates.
Now that I'm typing: just wondering.
Well, impossible not to stumble upon the new two pointer states:

LLX Red theme, quite dramatic screenshot since W10 16299 I guess.

But where exactly are "Location Select" and "Person Select" being used? In the day to day office I never encountered those pointers.

Don't tell me these are only used in a couple of UWP apps... I need to update some themes.

    *update:
all LLX releases have been updated to include the extra cursor states.

Do you have any plans to release Large or XLarge of the LLX themes?

I like everything tiny in 4k but I lose my cursor in some games.
The normal size LLX themes are by far the easiest to keep track of, even compared to the various XL sizes I have tried.
The green one is what I have at the moment.

Sorry if this was asked before I tried to read through the thread but 26 pages is a lot. @_@

    Hi there,
    Welcome to the forums!

Glad you agree on the visibility, I wanted to make the pointers as visible as possible. A wider edge helped a lot and the right choice of colors gives the best view.

LLX-Green theme? Deserves a release. I don't remember having that one here...
    I might have misread that.

--> any plans to release Large or XLarge of the LLX themes?
Well, this hasn't been asked before.

Short answer: There are, at the moment, no plans to release LLX Xlarge themes.

    Regarding current releases:
LLX cursor theme is already in medium-large size by default since the pointer is a bit bigger than Windows 'normal' ones. This makes a large release pointless.

An Xlarge release might be possible but there are some technical issues to check first: the cursor format size only provides room for 32x32 px size @96dpi and pointers are as big as they can get + spinners + hands and stuff.

    Cheers!

Hi, I was just wondering if you'd consider making an LLX-Green cursor theme, with the stars and gears included? I'd like the cursor to have a light green outline with it being black in the middle?

    Hi there,

That's indeed one needed for the pack and was considered a while ago.

This is currently in the making process...
I've already made the images so just need to begin making the cursor formats.

Should have it done by the end of this week.

    Cheers!
