    Hi, assuming you mean you wish to change the background of explorer, try Quizo's Qttabbar (freeware).
    Highly configurable, it's the only real way to change explorer, and adds tabs.
    Make sure you follow the installation instructions and how to enable it in explorer.
    Recommended by a number here.

    For other areas, you need a small registry hack, supported by a saved theme reapplied after resuming from sleep or hibernation- else teh background colour (below) is lost as widely reported by those who've tried it. (I've never read of anyone else solving that). I used that approach in Win 8 and now in Win 10 after MS removed the relevant dialogue.

    Note the background changed from MS off-white - a well-known registry hack.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors]
    "Window"="250 250 177"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors]
    "Window"="250 250 177"

    (I'm also using Aeroglass- a little transparency, colour and borders).

    Hi

    For changing only color background on windows explorer , quizo apps does the job without any patch

    For custom background pic you can't do that but using a visual style like gsw953 theme here :
    http://www.deviantart.com/art/Thin-W...w953-581824984

    I myself did some for personal use :

    - with partial glyph :

    - with full pic :

    Otherwise there isn't ATM any windows 7 folder background nor similar software doing that under windows 10 .

    mykou.. just for clarification:
    1. The registry patch does not affect explorer. For that, you need Quizo's Qttabbar.
    2. For many other things, you need the registry patch to change MS off-white to sthg else.
    E.g. 7-zip, Wordpad....

    Despite all that, there are still browse windows that open with a stubbornly off-white background, but overall a big improvement.

    Thanks everybody for your replies

    I was unclear in my message, i don't want to change the color of the explorer, and i don't want to change the background of all folders, just a folder that i would change the background

    I watch a lot of animes, so for each folder of these anime i've download a specific icon on devian't art, and with my old W7 64 bits I could change for each of these folders, the background with W7BFC with an pics i've took on google picture, and this is what i want to do in W10

    W7BFC change the background folder only when the properties menu is open, and i've seen in an other topic on this site, that one guy have the same issue

    So you think it is possible to do that or not.. ?

    PS : I'm sorry for my bad english, i'm french but i do my best for being the much understandable, i use a little google translate for that

    How did you change the window's background color ? I have installed qttabbar and changed settings under Settings / Appearance but it only changes the color of the qttabbart itself, not the actual windows's background.

    Hi, rt click on the Qttabbar tab bar, click Qttqbbar Options. You will then need to find the various options to change the appearance of different areas. Naturally you can then choose your own colours.

    That will change only explorer, control panel, not much else.
    See Help, Options for more.

    There is an option in Qttabbar. Watermark. I haven't used it, just recall comment from another thread. Please do feel free to explore its help and options.
