Cliff S's text tweak works great as it is theme specific! And 'Glass8' also works across the board.
Well in that case Aeroglass is useless for me I want the control elements to have the same color as the text elements... Why is there no method to simply change all white elements to black?? I hate you Microsoft...
The original Windows 10 was customizable via a modified theme file, which doesn't work anymore with 1511...
If anyone has another way to simply change the color of text and controls in title bars I would appreciate it a lot.
And huge thanks to dalchina and Cliff S for your advices, even though they didn't solve the problem unfortunately!!
Was this not apparent in my previous screenshot? Note consistency (at least for the active window)
You have to accept that for MS has been doing its best to take the P out of PC as regards appearance- I doubt you'll be seeing such creative theming applied to Win 10 as in the past. Maybe a compatible release of Stardock's WindowBlinds will be released one day.. but its not sthg I plan to use.
Lack of consideration for its existing marketplace in terms of consistency as regards appearance stands in stark contrast to its attention to legacy and compatibility (mostly).. but MS is trying to address a wider market of devices with a single solution. That started with the removal of the Window Colour and Appearance dialogues when Win 8 came in, and the loss of Aero. Not even optional, although reconsidered briefly in Win 10. Hence the need to know about the registry settings we have discussed above.
Thus you have to live within what's reasonably feasible and maintainable.
Personally I'm happy with coloured title bars, some transparency, drop shadows and coloured backgrounds that are easier on my eyes than a lot of near-white, + a lot of Win 7 icons. Except that it took quite a bit of work to do it initially. But at least it's been feasible in '8 and '10, and survived the Nov update with just a little effort.
