What are the pictures MS puts on my screen everytime I startup?

I guess they think I want to see these things. I apologize for not knowing what to call them other than "pictures". Every time I open the lid for the computer when it has been "sleeping" or I start up my laptop. These is some picture with a note in the upper right asking me if I like it or not. I always click that I do not like it and I wish I knew how t make it stop. I don't want to see their pictures and it is offensive to me for them to presume that I do.
However, I do not know how to make it stop. I have PW or fingerprint protection that I use to logon. The picture is usually on that screen waiting for me to slide my finger, then it opens to my desktop or whatever window I had open.

So.. what do I call these pictures, what screen is this? Can I get rid of the pictures or do I just have to keep telling them that I don't like the picture (there is a certain satisfaction in telling them I don't like their picture).

    Thanks,

    Julien

It is called "Windows spotlight" on the lock screen. You can set your own picture (so I guess you could pick a solid color). Can't seem to turn it off completely though...

It was bugging me also this "Do you like me? Please say yes" business. I don't want to be friends with an inanimate object.

Turn off the option I circled; see if that helps:
